Asking the Bridesmaids
Asking the Bridesmaids can be fun and creative! Maggie surprised us with these adorable boxes of goodies and a unique way to pop the question!
Maggie and Nick are getting married in June 2017! Maggie has been such a great sister to us and an amazing Auntie to our kids. She goes out of her way to shower them with attention, gifts, and lots and lots of love. When Nick came on the scene, he fit right in. The kids love him to pieces. So when he popped the question we were all so excited!
Since the engagement, I’ve been trying to play it cool, but barely containing my excitement. I’ve been all over Pinterest and Amazon digging up ideas for the big day! I didn’t want to get my hopes up about being in her bridal party because it’s her wedding and I didn’t want to put pressure on her…but I did let her know that either way, I’m giving a speech.
Anyway, the family decided to get together in Hebron for a bon fire and the Cubs game and while we were all together, Maggie brought out two boxes. One for me and one for Christa.
I’m sure be both could have guessed what they were for but we were so surprised by the thoughtfulness and creativity she put into these for us!
She used burlap and lace ribbon to wrap a box of goodies and attached this ADORABLE scratch off card from an Etsy shop! (click the link to check it out, I am not affiliated in any way and am not receiving anything for plugging the shop, I just think it’s great work!) I have seen a lot of cute ways to ask a bridesmaid to stand, but I have never seen something like this!
We’re a couple of saps. I think we both just cooed and said, “Awww!” for, like, 10 minutes before we finally answered her question and said, “Yes!”
I need to make sure I save my grand sappy-sap-fest for the speech, but I have to say that this is SUCH a treat for me. Maggie is one of the many blessings I’ve gained from joining Jordan’s family and being her Maid of Honor is just a dream come true for me!
We are so excited!! This is going to be so much fun.
